Hysteria

This might be the hardest we've ever seen Parker laugh. Unfortunately,
he got this worked up right as we were trying to get him to go to
sleep...figures. Amazingly, he fell asleep pretty quickly after having
a dramatic breakdown after this...I think he laughed himself silly. He
almost didn't even take a breath! He was turning red. Daddy sure is
funny.

Once in a Blue Moon

Hmmmmm...what's missing from this post? Oh! I know! Parker. Wow, Mommy and Daddy got to go have some "adult" time today, which means we got to go fishing. Well, Mommy got to go fishing for the first time in a long time, since she's usually gripping onto Parker to make sure he doesn't fling himself overboard everytime we're on the boat. He loves water so much, he just might do it one day. Anyway, here's Paige catching a sand bass in the San Diego harbor. Thanks to Dee and Niki for babysitting for us and giving Paige the opportunity to catch more fish than Jared. Which was easy.

Helping in the Garden

We're slowly working on getting rid of our lawn, little by little. (I mean, who likes to mow? And we live in a desert for goodness sakes. I can't even remember the last time it rained...I think it's about time we all started saving a little water!) Right now, we're in the process of digging up the front area and planting succulents to match what we've already got along the street. Luckily Parker loves digging in dirt, and loves shovels, so the project is moving along much faster thanks to his help! Or...not really.

SK8 or Die

We went into Jared's office this Saturday morning because he needed to do a little work...Parker had fun, though, because the "office" is also like a big playground! He rode a scooter around the warehouse with me, and definitely learned the word "skateboard." I think he needs to get a little bit more coordinated before he actually tries one out, but the interest is there already!

Playground Time

Fingerpainting

I'm always eager to introduce Parker to arts and crafts that he might not be quite ready for yet, but I'm sure they'll grow on him soon enough! Today we tried fingerpainting for the first time...he was intrigued at first, until he tried to suck his thumb with paint all over his fingers! But I think he created a lovely little masterpiece (check out those circles!), and can't wait for more.

Backpacking

Thank you so much to Grandma Chris and Grandpa Mark for the awesome backpack for Parker!! We took it out for a test ride at Palomar Mountain State Park today, and we all loved it. Can't wait to go for more hikes!
