Happy Father's Day!

We had a super fun Father's Day in San Diego this year. Dee and Niki scouted out a perfect hang out spot on a little beach in the bay on Point Loma looking out at Shelter Island. Nate, Lisa, Alex, Kristina, Jim, Lanea, Diana, Grayson, Grandpa Don, and Andrew were all there, too, and we spent the whole day playing in the sand, splashing in the water, going for boat rides (Jared brought his boat and beached it right at our spot), and eating lots of food and cake (it was also Alex's 8th birthday!). After weeks of heavy June gloom, the sun came out all day and we had a gorgeous San Diego Sunday. Can't wait to do it again!!

31 Years Young

Thanks to Dee and Niki for taking Parker duty last weekend so that Jared and I could celebrate my birthday by enjoying a very indulgent and grown-up dinner at The Prado in Balboa Park--and then off to a movie, too! It really felt like a mini-vacation for us. Here we all are (with my all-time favorite kitty--besides Jake, of course, lord rest his soul...) on my birthday morning after a yummy breakfast down by the harbor. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes and treats!

Once in a Blue Moon

Hmmmmm...what's missing from this post? Oh! I know! Parker. Wow, Mommy and Daddy got to go have some "adult" time today, which means we got to go fishing. Well, Mommy got to go fishing for the first time in a long time, since she's usually gripping onto Parker to make sure he doesn't fling himself overboard everytime we're on the boat. He loves water so much, he just might do it one day. Anyway, here's Paige catching a sand bass in the San Diego harbor. Thanks to Dee and Niki for babysitting for us and giving Paige the opportunity to catch more fish than Jared. Which was easy.
