More fun with Josie! We got to spend the day at the San Diego Zoo with Em, Peter, and Josie. The weather was amazing/ly hot and we managed to see lots of animals--giraffes, elephants, gorillas, orangutans, monkeys of all shapes and sizes, flamingos, grizzly bears, and more. I think that this was Parker's most fun zoo visit so far, now that he's getting old enough to really check out the animals and think about what they look like and what they're doing. Parker and Josie held up wonderfully through the long, hot day, crashing out in their strollers as soon as we left the gift shop and headed for our cars! They were exhausted, but I'm pretty sure it was a happy exhaustion. The Mork family had to head home to Northern California, though, and we will really miss them all! It's great that Parker knows them so much better now--can't wait to see you all again sometime soon!

Bates Nut Farm

We had a fun family day at Bates Nut Farm out near Escondido--they have a crazy pumpkin patch/Halloween carnival there through the whole month of October! Grandma Chris (Grammy) has been here visiting, so she got to join us as we met up with Mimi, Niki, Diana, Grayson, Jim, Kristina, and Lanea! The kids all had so much fun--Parker was happy all day long, right up until bedtime. He was definitely on a little-kid carnival high. He got to pet animals (although he stuck his thumb in his mouth seconds after petting the pig...and yes, those are tears on his face as Grammy tries to explain to him that baby animals are not scary), fly down a giant bouncy slide with Mommy, chow down on carne asada tacos, go for a tractor ride, and feed goats. Whew!

Once in a Blue Moon
Hmmmmm...what's missing from this post? Oh! I know! Parker. Wow, Mommy and Daddy got to go have some "adult" time today, which means we got to go fishing. Well, Mommy got to go fishing for the first time in a long time, since she's usually gripping onto Parker to make sure he doesn't fling himself overboard everytime we're on the boat. He loves water so much, he just might do it one day. Anyway, here's Paige catching a sand bass in the San Diego harbor. Thanks to Dee and Niki for babysitting for us and giving Paige the opportunity to catch more fish than Jared. Which was easy.
