Father's Day Weekend

We were so lucky to be able to spend a warm, sunny weekend down in San Diego with Dee and Niki and Jared's family for Father's Day. We stayed at the Kona Kai on Shelter Island, while was truly like going on vacation in paradise for two days! We woke up to look at the boats docked right in front of our room and looked across the channel to the gorgeous homes along the shores of Point Loma. We spent two days swimming in the pool, playing in the sand, going for rides on Jared's boat, eating, and having a huge bon fire at night. Parker played longer and harder than I have ever seen him, with two of his cousins there and other family members for constant entertainment, a playground, water, sand, toys, and not a nap in sight! Needless to say, he fell asleep in about two seconds once he finally did get tucked into bed (way past his bed time). So much fun!

Grandpa Geoff is Here!

Grandpa Geoff came down from Northern California for a visit, and Parker warmed up to him right away even though it's been a long time since we all last saw each other! It was really cool to see how comfortable Parker was with Grandpa Geoff, they acted just like old friends :) We had lots of fun going for a bike ride down to the beach, eating lunch, visiting Daddy at the skateboard ramp, and walking around the harbor checking out boats. You can tell that Parker has a lot of the Prindle side in him! Thanks for a great visit, Grandpa!

Our Future Sailor?

I think Parker is telling us in this picture that he would like a new sailboat...

First Time Fishing

Saturday was a cold, windy, cloudy day, but the sun finally broke through on Sunday afternoon, so we headed to the harbor for Parker's first fishing trip! Lately, Parker's been asking Jared every night before bedtime about his (Parker's) fishing pole that we keep on his bookcase (and that Mimi and Niki got him before he was born!). He was so excited to finally get a chance to try it out! Jared brought some peas and bread to try to tempt the fishies around the docks...Parker would throw the peas in the water and say, "Come here, fish!" We didn't catch anything, but Parker seemed to have lots of fun! He got to see a lot of little fish swimming around, and spent the last few minutes of the afternoon chasing seagulls around the docks. So, I'd say the first fishing trip was a success!

Once in a Blue Moon

Hmmmmm...what's missing from this post? Oh! I know! Parker. Wow, Mommy and Daddy got to go have some "adult" time today, which means we got to go fishing. Well, Mommy got to go fishing for the first time in a long time, since she's usually gripping onto Parker to make sure he doesn't fling himself overboard everytime we're on the boat. He loves water so much, he just might do it one day. Anyway, here's Paige catching a sand bass in the San Diego harbor. Thanks to Dee and Niki for babysitting for us and giving Paige the opportunity to catch more fish than Jared. Which was easy.
