Easter Eggs

We're managing to make Easter a little bit of a bigger deal for Parker this year...somehow I totally spaced last year and we didn't do any of the usual fun activities (in fact, I still have an unused Easter basket and a couple of Easter books hidden away in my closet that I never gave him last year...). Luckily, Grammy made sure that Parker got to die Easter eggs today--along with a little help from a new bunny puppet! Parker has been practicing hiding some pretend eggs around the house, so he should be ready for a good backyard Easter egg hunt by this weekend. Although, even though he always hides the practice eggs himself, he seems to instantaneously forget where they are...I guess that means at least it's a surprise for him every time!

First Buzz

We've been toying with the idea of buzzing Parker's hair for a few months now (after Jared started sporting the no-nonsense look himself). It was about time for Parker to need a haircut, and on Friday he suddenly seemed game for the clippers. So, he and Jared got to have a little boy-bonding time, and off went the luxurious baby locks. Parker did a great job, although he looked pretty shocked when he saw himself in the mirror for the first time...I won't lie, I don't think he loved his new look! I actually miss his longer hair, it was so smooth and silky and full of character and highlights! But, this will be fine for now, and I know it'll grow back fast. I still catch myself just staring at him sometimes, he looks so different!

Parker and Cousin Alex

I caught this sweet moment at the end of a long day of fun at Mimi and Niki's house. Alex was reading to Parker so carefully, and Parker was listening so quietly and patiently. The next time we visited with Alex, Parker wanted Alex to read more books to him! Now that's some quality play time :)

Fire Truck

Parker and I got to visit a fire truck today at his "preschool"! One of the other little kids has a dad who is a fireman, and he was nice enough to bring his truck and some firefighter friends by for a little show and tell. Parker was, as you might be able to tell in the first photo, a little overwhelmed by all of the commotion (lots of little kids) and the huge truck--I thought Parker  was going to have a breakdown when a nice fireman helped lift him out of the truck! I tried to explain to Parker that firemen are good people whose job it is to help you! But he was pretty excited about the fire hat and sticker they gave him at the end--he even wore it to the beach afterwards! They even turned the sirens on when they drove away--pretty cool.
